Paddy Pimblett dominated Michael Chandler at UFC 314 with a knockout victory in the third round, leading to widespread praise and positioning himself as a potential contender for the UFC lightweight title.
Paddy Pimblett might’ve just stolen the show at UFC 314. Yep, you heard that right.
“The Baddy” stepped into the octagon against Michael Chandler as the favorite. But who would’ve guessed the beatdown he’d deliver? Few could’ve predicted it. In under three rounds, Pimblett dominated Chandler on his feet and showcased some killer grappling skills, brutalizing him on the ground.
Instead of coasting to a decision, Pimblett cranked it up in the third round. And bam! He snagged a knockout victory in their five-round co-main event.
Afterward, Pimblett didn’t waste his mic time. Oh no, he called out top lightweights like Dustin Poirier, Justin Gaethje, and Charles Oliveira. He’s got his eyes set on climbing over one of them for a shot at the UFC lightweight title.
Belal Muhammad, the UFC welterweight champ, respects Pimblett’s guts. He tweeted, “Islam [Makhachev] has a new contender.”
