Paige VanZant is set to compete in Dana White’s Power Slap promotion for the first time on June 28 in Las Vegas, marking her debut in the slap-fighting league after a diverse combat sports career.
Paige VanZant is about to enter the world of Power Slap.
On June 28 in Las Vegas, VanZant competes in Dana White’s Power Slap promotion for the first time. She faces Christine Wolmarans at Fontainebleau Hotel and Casino. The announcement was made during the UFC Saudi Arabia card Saturday.
“Whether motherfckers like it or not, I am doing Power Slap,” VanZant said on her podcast with husband Austin Vanderford. “I’m fcking Paige VanZant. I was in the UFC, bare-knuckle boxing, boxing, and now I’m doing Power Slap. I’m going to do literally everything and just piss people off.”
VanZant recently teased that she had big news coming soon. Apparently, that hinted at her making the move to compete in Power Slap. She’ll be the first UFC veteran to compete in the slap-fighting league founded by White, which initially launched back in early 2023.
While she hasn’t fought in MMA since her final UFC fight back in 2020, the 30-year-old veteran has kept plenty busy outside the octagon.
VanZant signed a lucrative multi-fight deal to compete in BKFC just after leaving the UFC. There, she amassed an 0-2 record with losses to Britain Hart and fellow UFC veteran Rachael Ostovich. VanZant remains under contract with BKFC and has stated that she intends to return there for at least one more fight.
Most recently, VanZant crossed over to influencer boxing when she took on Elle Brooke at a Misfits Boxing card in Houston. She suffered a knockdown early in the contest but regained control later to salvage a five-round split draw.
Now VanZant takes off the boxing gloves and prepares to engage in a slap fight as part of the Power Slap 8 card. This event takes place during International Fight Week in Las Vegas, culminating with UFC 303 on June 29 at T-Mobile Arena.
