Paige VanZant Power Slap Return Set for UFC 308 Week

Paige VanZant is set for her second Power Slap appearance against Chelsea Dodson on October 24 at Space42 Arena in Abu Dhabi, following her debut win in June, marking a return to form after a series of losses in other combat sports.

Looks like Paige VanZant is just getting started with slapping. Seriously.

The ex-UFC fighter and combat sports star is gearing up for another Power Slap showdown. This time, she’s facing Chelsea Dodson at Space42 Arena in Abu Dhabi on Oct. 24. Coincidentally, that’s the same weekend UFC 308 hits town. Power Slap made the announcement Wednesday, following TMZ’s scoop.

VanZant first dipped her toes into slapfighting back in June against Christine Wolmarans. She snagged a unanimous decision win after knocking Wolmarans down twice. Not too shabby for a debut, huh?

That win was a big deal for “12 Gauge,” especially after a rough patch of four straight losses since her last UFC fight in 2020. Remember when Amanda Ribas submitted her at UFC 251? Ouch. Then she lost two high-profile bare-knuckle boxing matches to Britain Hart and Rachael Ostovich. And in May, she went toe-to-toe with influencer Elle Brooke, ending in a split draw. Talk about ups and downs!

Chelsea Dodson, by the way, is married to John Dodson—a combat sports vet and two-time UFC flyweight title challenger. She’s making her Power Slap debut this time around.

Mark your calendars: Power Slap 9 streams live on Rumble on Oct. 24. Just two days later, UFC 308 kicks off at Etihad Arena, also in Abu Dhabi. Busy week for fight fans!
