Pat Miletich’s Epic Exit: UFC legend quits mid-bout on stool, as Mike Jackson secures dominant TKO victory at Caged Aggression 36

UFC Hall of Famer Pat Miletich lost to Mike Jackson at Caged Aggression 36 after being unable to answer the bell for the third round, citing exhaustion, despite initially dominating the fight.

UFC Hall of Famer Pat Miletich, 57, faced a tough challenge in his fight against Mike Jackson at Caged Aggression 36. Despite his experience and old man strength, Miletich couldn’t hold his ground for three rounds. Jackson, 38, spent the majority of two rounds underneath Miletich, who dominated the early moments of the fight with a powerful right hand off a naked led kick. However, when Miletich couldn’t come out for the third round, Jackson was declared the winner by TKO in the main event of Saturday night’s show.

Fighting before his hometown crowd in Davenport, Iowa, Miletich received an extra boost of energy from the fans. With longtime teammate and fellow UFC Hall of Famer Jens Pulver in his corner, he showcased his skills early on by holding Jackson in side mount and landing vicious elbows. Trapped beneath Miletich’s onslaught, Jackson found it difficult to escape while his corner, MMA journalist and coach Elias Cepeda, shouted instructions.

In the second round, Miletich aggressively initiated a takedown and quickly moved to quarter mount, aiming to secure a decisive finish. However, Jackson managed to regain his footing, relentlessly pushing forward and landing punches that gradually wore down Miletich. Despite the shots not being particularly powerful, Miletich’s lack of cardio proved to be his downfall.

After a conversation with his corner, Miletich, visibly exhausted, made the decision to end the fight. Pulver approached Jackson in what initially appeared to be a confrontation, but tensions were diffused, and the out-of-town fighter celebrated his victory. Giving credit where it was due, Jackson acknowledged Miletich as a legend of the sport in his post-fight interview, closing with a cry of “Wakanda Forever.”

Despite their differing political stances, Miletich, a well-known figure in right-wing MMA politics, showed respect towards Jackson. He admitted to experiencing something unprecedented in his fighting career, as he admitted, “something that never happened to me in a fight: I gassed. Halfway through 2, I literally couldn’t breathe.” Miletich recognized Jackson’s strategy as smart and commended him for his performance in the ring.
