Philipe Lins Becomes Free Agent After UFC Contract Completion on Win Streak

Former PFL heavyweight champion Philipe Lins has entered free agency after completing his UFC contract on a four-fight win streak.

Philipe Lins? Yeah, he’s a free bird now.

This former PFL heavyweight champ just wrapped up his UFC contract. And what a ride it was – a four-fight winning streak. That’s what sources close to the matter told MMA Fighting’s Guilherme Cruz.

But here’s the kicker. The UFC didn’t re-sign him after his contract ended. Could he return to the UFC? Maybe. But for now, he’s free to explore other opportunities.

Lins, 38, ain’t no rookie. He’s been in the game for a decade, competing in both heavyweight and light heavyweight divisions. Bellator, PFL, UFC – you name it, he’s been there.

Remember 2018? Lins sure does. He won four straight fights and bagged the PFL season heavyweight title. Oh, and a cool $1 million prize. Not too shabby, huh?

Then he joined the UFC. Started off rocky, losing two heavyweight bouts against Andrei Arlovski and Tanner Boser. But then, bam! He bounced back with a four-fight win streak in the light heavyweight division.

His most recent bout? That was against Ion Cutelaba at UFC 299. Spoiler alert – Lins won. Unanimous decision.

And let’s not forget his current win streak. It includes a knockout of Ovince Saint Preux. Knocked him out in 49 seconds. OSP was a one-time UFC interim title challenger. Now, that’s impressive.
