Cesar Almeida delivered a stunning comeback knockout against Abdul Razak Alhassan at UFC Vegas 101, earning praise and being considered an early candidate for the 2025 Knockout of the Year.
Cesar Almeida kicked off the 2025 Knockout of the Year race in style.
Almeida’s UFC Vegas 101 main card clash with Abdul Razak Alhassan was expected to be explosive. But, honestly, no one foresaw the jaw-dropping finale. Alhassan had Almeida on the ropes, unleashing a relentless barrage as Almeida was pinned against the cage. Then—boom!—”Cesinha” countered with a perfect left hand, leaving Alhassan stiff on the canvas.
This marked Almeida’s first knockout victory in the UFC. He arrived with a fearsome reputation as a dangerous kickboxer, and boy, did he deliver!
Naturally, fellow fighters were astounded by this comeback KO. Diana Belbita took to Twitter, exclaiming, “That’s what I call playing Russian Roulette in MMA.”
UFC welterweight Randy Brown chimed in too, noting how Almeida snatched victory “from the brink of defeat.”
Even Henry Cejudo, a former two-division UFC champion, praised Almeida’s performance. He tweeted, “Cesinha Almeida puts forth an early KO of the year candidate.”
