Manon Fiorot won a one-sided UFC match against Erin Blanchfield, improving her record to 7-0 and potentially earning a title shot at 125 pounds.
Manon Fiorot’s first UFC headliner was a sight to behold. Under the glaring lights, she was at ease, delivering a performance that left Erin Blanchfield in the dust. This was during UFC Atlantic City’s probable title eliminator.
Blanchfield tried a guillotine in the first round. But, after that, it was all Fiorot. For over 20 minutes, she dominated, earning a unanimous decision win. Fiorot’s wrestling and takedown defense were top-notch. Blanchfield had her moments, but she was no match for Fiorot, who’s 34.
Fiorot is now 7-0 in the octagon. She might have just earned her shot at the 125-pound title. Blanchfield, on the other hand, suffered her first octagon defeat, and her second loss as a pro.
UFC fighters reacted to Fiorot’s victory over Blanchfield. The main event closed the show in UFC’s return to Atlantic City. Megan Anderson tweeted, “Big win for Fiorot.. patient, methodical approach which is to be expected from her – counterstriking and range control on point.. Blanchfield had some moments late in the fights, but it just wasn’t enough in the end.. Fiorot the #1 contender now #UFCAtlanticCity.”
Will Brooks chimed in with, “Bruhhhh. If you ever have a point in a fight where your corner is saying Uhhhh, as if they not sure what to say… That’s not good. #UFCAtlanticCity.” Damien Brown added, “Grasso & Shevchenko would walk through both these ladies with ease. Neither would be competitive unfortunately #UFCAtlanticCity.”
Megan Anderson also suggested, “Blanchfield needs to set up her combos if she’s going to close the range on Fiorot or just commit to the blitz, knowing she’s going to have to take a couple of hits to overwhelm Manon to get on the inside #UFCAtlanticCity.” Paulo Costa (Borrachinha) tweeted, “Nothing better than a woman main event fight.”
