Herb Dean will referee the rematch between Alex Pereira and Jiri Prochazka at UFC 303, with Derek Cleary, Sal D’Amato, and Ron McCarthy as judges, following approval by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
The referee and judges for the Alex Pereira vs. Jiri Prochazka light heavyweight title fight at UFC 303 have been assigned.
These assignments were approved by the Nevada State Athletic Commission during their monthly meeting on Tuesday.
Herb Dean will be the third man in the octagon when Pereira faces Prochazka in a rematch. Their first clash was at UFC 295 last November, where Marc Goddard stopped the fight after Pereira dropped Prochazka and followed up with ground punches, crowning him the new 205-pound champion.
This time, Dean oversees as Prochazka seeks revenge while Pereira aims for his second straight title defense after knocking out Jamahal Hill at UFC 300.
Judges Derek Cleary, Sal D’Amato, and Ron McCarthy will score the fight from cage side.
The new UFC 303 main event came together quickly after Conor McGregor broke his toe, forcing him to withdraw from his bout against Michael Chandler. This led to Pereira and Prochazka stepping up as headliners for June 29.
Additional referee and judging assignments will be announced at UFC 303 on Saturday.
