Rematch between Rodrigo Nascimento & Don’Tale Mayes at UFC Sao Paulo Announced

Rodrigo Nascimento and Don’Tale Mayes are set to face each other in a UFC match in Sao Paulo, Brazil, with the Fight Night card being headlined by Curtis Blaydes vs. Jailton Almeida.

Rodrigo Nascimento and Don’Tale Mayes are set to have a rematch at a UFC event in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on Nov. 4, according to multiple sources. These heavyweights previously faced off in May 2020, where Nascimento, also known as Brazil’s “Ze Colmeia”, emerged victorious through a second-round rear-naked choke. However, Nascimento would experience his first professional defeat five months later to Chris Daukaus. This upcoming match will see him arrive with a two-fight winning streak against Ilir Latifi and Tanner Boser.

Opposite him, Mayes had just experienced a loss to Ciryl Gane in his UFC debut when he first faced Nascimento in Jacksonville, Florida. After that, “Lord Kong” lost only one of his next five fights in the octagon. This 31-year-old heavyweight is a three-time veteran of Dana White’s Contender Series, showcasing his consistent presence in the sport.

In his most recent performance, Mayes stopped former UFC champion Andrei Arlovski with a second-round TKO finish. Although the upcoming Sao Paulo fight is a rematch, both Nascimento and Mayes have taken different career trajectories since their first bout. This event promises an interesting line-up, with the Fight Night card being headlined by top-ranked heavyweights Curtis Blaydes and Jailton Almeida.
