Rob Font Welcomes Deiveson Figueiredo to UFC Bantamweight Division

Former UFC flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo is set to make his promotional debut in the bantamweight division against Rob Font at a to-be-decided venue for the UFC’s Fight Night event.

Deiveson Figueiredo, a former UFC flyweight champion, is set to transition to the bantamweight division. Insiders have confirmed his promotional debut with the 135-pound division is to be against Rob Font. The bout is scheduled for the UFC’s Fight Night event on December 2. However, the location and venue are yet to be announced.

Figueiredo, with a history of two separate reigns as UFC flyweight champion, is heading to bantamweight following his loss to Brandon Moreno. In their fourth meet at UFC 290 in January, Figueiredo lost his title due to a doctor’s stoppage TKO. Known as “Deus da Guerra,” Figueiredo had been scheduled for 14 bouts at 125 pounds since his original signing with UFC, boasting a divisional record of 10-3-1. Despite his impressive record, he did have a setback when he missed weight by 2.5 pounds before his second-round stoppage win over Joseph Benavidez in February 2020 at UFC Norfolk.

On the other hand, Rob Font is prepping up for his third appearance of 2023, with a goal of ending the year on a high note. The New England Cartel standout had a promising start to the year with a first-round finish of Adrian Yanez at UFC 287 in April. However, he unfortunately lost a unanimous decision to Cory Sandhagen in the main event of UFC Nashville held in August.
