Artur Beterbiev became the undisputed light heavyweight champion by defeating Dmitry Bivol, but the decision sparked controversy and debate within the combat sports community over the judges’ scoring.
Artur Beterbiev holds the title of undisputed light heavyweight champion. Some folks might argue about that “undisputed” label, though.
He’s the reigning WBO, IBF, and WBC champ at 175 pounds. Recently, he snagged the WBA title after a nail-biting majority decision win over Dmitry Bivol. The fight? Intense. Beterbiev pushed forward, while Bivol countered with precision. It was hard to tell who had the upper hand at times.
In the end, one judge called it a tie. The other two? They gave Beterbiev the nod.
The combat sports community? Oh boy, they had thoughts. Some questioned the judges’ call, others wanted more action, and a few tipped their hats to Beterbiev’s new four-belt status.
Ryan Garcia didn’t hold back: “Wow robbery if you ask me.”

Hmm this fight didn’t live up to the hype to me: 114-114, 113-114, 115, 112. ………. Beterbiev!!!!

Really poor scoring.
116-112 for Beterbiev is egregiously bad.

116-112 was not acceptable. lol
Personally thought a draw but either way.

I’ve got Bivol winning that! The last round was so close again but I just feel Bivol landed the better shots all
