Sean Brady ended 2024 with a submission win at the Fury Pro Grappling event in Philadelphia, called out former UFC champ Leon Edwards for a potential fight in London, and has had a strong comeback year in the UFC with notable victories over Kelvin Gastelum and Gilbert Burns.
Sean Brady wrapped up 2024 with a bang, scoring a submission victory in the grappling circuit. He then took the mic to call out former UFC champ Leon Edwards.
The 19-1 welterweight was the star of Saturday’s Fury Pro Grappling event at Philadelphia’s 2300 Arena—once known as the legendary ECW Arena. Facing Richie Martinez, Brady put on quite the show, finishing with a fierce mounted guillotine that forced the tap.
Check out the highlights, including the thrilling finish, in the videos below. Worth a watch!
Since his sole defeat to current champ Belal Muhammad at UFC 280 in October 2022, Brady’s been on a mission. He’s only stepped into the octagon twice since then. First, he secured a decisive submission win over Kelvin Gastelum at UFC Austin in December 2023. Then, he dominated Gilbert Burns in his inaugural UFC main event at UFC Vegas 97 last September, sweeping two judges’ scorecards and earning a 49-46 from another. Talk about redemption!
Following his grappling triumph this past weekend, Brady soaked it all in before issuing a challenge to Edwards for the UFC’s London card in March. Ambitious? Definitely.
“I want to go to London and I want to fight Leon in his backyard March 22,” Brady declared. “So hopefully the UFC can make that happen, but we’ll see.” Fingers crossed!
