Tatiana Suarez Withdraws from UFC 310 Fight vs Virna Jandiroba

Tatiana Suarez, a top strawweight contender, will miss her fight against Virna Jandiroba at UFC 310 due to a health issue, delaying her return until 2025 and marking another setback in her injury-plagued career.

Top-ranked strawweight contender Tatiana Suarez, unfortunately, won’t be stepping into the octagon until 2025. She’s been forced out of her anticipated fight against Virna Jandiroba, which was set for UFC 310 on Dec. 7 in Las Vegas.

Sources informed MMA Fighting on Monday that Suarez is dealing with a health issue. This setback prevents her from competing in what was expected to be a No. 1 contender’s bout at 115 pounds. MMA Melotto first broke the news.

It’s a tough break for Suarez, who’s often seen as a future UFC champion. Yet, health issues have dogged her career. After she took down Nina Nunes in 2019, she seemed poised for title contention. However, injuries sidelined her for over three years.

Upon returning, Suarez plunged right back into competition. She secured a submission victory over Montana De La Rosa at flyweight and then finished former UFC champ Jessica Andrade, earning a Performance of the Night bonus last August.

Suarez was next slated to face Amanda Lemos in February, but an injury derailed that plan too. Then came the matchup with Jandiroba in December—now also canceled.

Sadly, that fight’s off the table now.

There’s no word yet on how long Suarez will be out after withdrawing from her December bout. It’s unclear if Jandiroba will remain on the UFC 310 card with a new opponent or wait for another opportunity.
