Tommy Fury Criticizes Darren Till After Misfits Boxing Fight Cancellation

Tommy Fury blames Darren Till for their fight not happening, citing Till’s threats to use “MMA tactics” and his unprofessional behavior as reasons for moving on to a bigger fight.

Tommy Fury squarely blames Darren Till for their fight falling through. Initially, these two were set to face off at Misfits Boxing 20 in January. However, Fury pulled out after Till hinted at using “MMA tactics” during the bout.

Fury shared his thoughts with IFL TV while in Saudi Arabia. He explained why the fight was called off. “I’m a professional fighter,” Fury began. “I didn’t choose Darren to then cancel the card; it’s because he lacks a business brain.”

He continued, “Darren is what he is. I’m here to fight, not engage in any circus antics.” Fury emphasized that after being out of the ring for over a year, he wasn’t interested in unpredictable moves like takedowns.

Misfits may love theatrics, but Fury isn’t keen on them for his career. “If you’re calling betting companies saying you’ll do this or that, I don’t need it,” he stated. Fury made it clear: act up, and you’ll be replaced.

Till had his chance, according to Fury. “He’s an idiot,” Fury said bluntly. “He blew it for himself and his team.” Harsh words, but that’s what happens when you think you’re clever, Fury added.

After departing the UFC post-defeat to Dricus du Plessis at UFC 282, Till ventured into boxing. His debut at Social Knockout 3 ended in chaos—a TKO win followed by a near brawl.

That incident and Till’s joking threats to take down or kick Fury led him to seek a bigger fight. As the only boxer to defeat Jake Paul, Fury felt justified in moving on.

“Just watch his first boxing match,” Fury remarked. “The chaos and stupidity? Not my thing.” He noted that Till’s move to boxing was supposed to be his biggest payday.

“I’m here to fight,” Fury asserted. “Not roll around with Darren on the floor.” He’s now focused on finding a proper opponent for a more significant bout.

In Fury’s mind, Till is history—”he’s nobody,” he concluded.
