Tracy Cortez Withdraws from UFC Tampa Fight Against Miranda Maverick

Tracy Cortez has withdrawn from her scheduled fight against Miranda Maverick at the UFC Tampa card on December 14 due to an undisclosed injury, marking the second time their bout has been canceled.

Third time’s a charm? Maybe for Tracy Cortez and Miranda Maverick. Who knows?

Just over a month out from UFC Tampa on Dec. 14, Cortez has backed out again. Yep, second time this fight’s been scheduled and then—poof! Gone. Last time, she got the chance to face Rose Namajunas at UFC Denver in July. Short notice, big opportunity.

Now, she’s pulled out with an undisclosed injury. Mysterious, right? Multiple insiders confirmed this news to MMA Fighting’s Mike Heck on Tuesday. First word came from MMA Junkie.

So what’s next? They’re hunting for a new opponent for Maverick. But no names yet. The suspense is real!

Maverick’s riding high on a three-fight win streak. She recently took down Dione Barbosa, Andrea Lee, and Priscila Cachoeira. Quite the roll!

Sadly, her focus shifts now. Cortez won’t be in Tampa for the final UFC event of 2024. What a bummer.
