Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk are set to face off for the title of undisputed heavyweight champion of the world this Saturday at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with Fury’s WBC heavyweight title and Usyk’s WBA, IBF, IBO, and The Ring heavyweight titles on the line.
It’s almost time for Tyson Fury to face Oleksandr Usyk. This Saturday, the two heavyweights are set to clash at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The stakes? The undisputed heavyweight champion of the world title.
Fury’s putting his WBC heavyweight title on the line. Usyk’s bringing his WBA, IBF, IBO, and The Ring heavyweight titles to the table. The winner will be the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis in 2000.
Fury’s record stands at 34-0-1. He’s a decorated heavyweight champion, but his recent performance against Francis Ngannou, the lineal MMA heavyweight champ, was less than stellar. He managed a split decision victory in their October bout, despite a third-round knockdown. Now, he’s up against Usyk, a more seasoned opponent.
Usyk, with a 21-0 record, is a 2012 Olympic gold medalist in boxing. He went pro in 2013 and has been a force to reckon with ever since. He’s the first (and only, so far) undisputed cruiserweight champion in the four-belt era. After moving up to heavyweight, he defeated Anthony Joshua twice to claim his current titles. His most recent victory was a ninth-round knockout of Daniel Dubois in August.
The event starts at 10 a.m. ET on DAZN with two prelim bouts. Then, it’s onto an eight-fight pay-per-view segment, culminating in the heavyweight title fight. Check out the full fight card below.
