UFC 289: Exciting Return to Canada Confirmed in Vancouver

After a nearly four-year gap, the UFC is set to return to Canada for UFC 289 at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver.

The UFC is making its highly anticipated return to Canada after nearly four years. UFC President Dana White announced on Friday that the promotion will take place in the Great White North for UFC 289 on June 10 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver. In a statement, White said, “Everybody’s been asking me, ‘When are you coming back to Canada? When are you coming back to Canada?’ UFC 289, June 10, Vancouver, Rogers Arena. We’ll see you soon, Canada.”

Canada used to be a staple on the UFC calendar every year, with their last event held in September 2019. That Fight Night card took place at Rogers Arena in Vancouver as well and featured a headliner matchup between Justin Gaethje and Donald Cerrone. Additionally, the most recent pay-per-view event in Canada was 2019’s UFC 240, which was highlighted by a featherweight title fight between Max Holloway and Frankie Edgar.

While there is no main event set for UFC 289 yet, several fights have already been announced for the card. As excitement builds for the UFC’s return to Canada, fans are eager to see what matchups will be revealed in the coming months.
