UFC 291 Broadcast Team Brings Back Joe Rogan & Chael Sonnen

The UFC 291 broadcast team will feature familiar names including the return of Joe Rogan to color commentary, along with Jon Anik, Daniel Cormier, and the comeback of Chael Sonnen to the broadcast team; the event will be headlined by the rematch between Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje for the vacant BMF title.

The UFC 291 event will feature a familiar team of commentators. It has been confirmed that Joe Rogan is rejoining the broadcast as a color commentator for the second time this month. Jon Anik and former two-division champion Daniel Cormier will be joining Rogan in the commentary team, making the event even more exciting for viewers.

Among the new faces of UFC 291, Chael Sonnen is set to make a return to the commentary desk after his hiatus since UFC 272 in March 2022. ESPN’s Charlie Moynihan broke the news on Twitter in the previous week. This piece of news was originally brought to light by MMA Junkie. Sonnen has also encountered some legal trouble, having previously pleaded no contest to a single misdemeanor charge of breaching peace. He is returning to the broadcast team after being charged with battery by strangulation and 10 other misdemeanor battery charges, arising from an alleged assault incident in December 2021.

The main event of UFC 291 is to feature a rematch between Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje. They will be fighting for the vacant BMF title. Dana White has revealed that the title will be awarded by former BMF titleholder, Jorge Masvidal. Michael Eaves, Anthony Smith, and Din Thomas will also be joining Sonnen on the analyst’s desk for this highly-anticipated event.
