UFC 297 Broadcast Team Welcomes Dominick Cruz, Replacing Joe Rogan

Dominick Cruz will replace Joe Rogan on the broadcast team for UFC 297 in Toronto, Canada, joining Jon Anik and Daniel Cormier, with Megan Olivi as the in-house reporter and Din Thomas as the “coach”.

Okay, so here’s the scoop. Dominick Cruz is stepping in for Joe Rogan. Yeah, you heard that right. He’s joining the broadcast team for UFC 297 pay-per-view. And guess what? It’s happening in Toronto, Canada this Saturday.

Now, Joe Rogan, he’s usually the guy you’d see calling the shots at these pay-per-view fights. But he’s not big on international travel, so Cruz got the nod this time. It’s his chance to shine for the first major card of 2024.

Cruz won’t be flying solo, though. He’s got Jon Anik, the play-by-play guy, and UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier by his side. They’ll be the voices of the fights come Saturday.

And let’s not forget Megan Olivi. She’s the in-house reporter for the card. Din Thomas is also joining the broadcast. He’s the “coach”, the guy who’ll be shedding light during the fights.

So, what’s the main event? It’s a middleweight title fight. Reigning champ Sean Strickland is going head-to-head with Dricus du Plessis. Remember when Strickland shocked everyone last September? He upset Israel Adesanya and nabbed the 185-pound title.

As for du Plessis, he’s been on a roll. He’s 6-0 since he joined the UFC roster. His last knockout was a stunner against former champ Robert Whittaker.

There’s also a co-main event. It’s a women’s bantamweight championship fight. Mayra Bueno Silva and Raquel Pennington will be duking it out in a five-round battle.

You can catch the main card on ESPN+ pay-per-view. It starts at 10 p.m. ET. The prelims? They’re kicking off on ESPN+ at 6:30 p.m. ET.
