Strawweights Tatiana Suarez and Amanda Lemos are set to face off in a key matchup at UFC 298 on February 17 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
Hey, guess what? Tatiana Suarez and Amanda Lemos are set to go head-to-head. Yeah, they’re on the UFC 298 card, happening Feb. 17 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.
UFC officials let the cat out of the bag along with the rest of the fight card for the February pay-per-view.
Suarez? She’s a force to be reckoned with. Undefeated with a perfect 10-0 record, she’s eyeing that No. 1 contender spot in the division. She’s back in action in the New Year, after a neck injury had her benched for almost four years. But she’s back and better than ever, with two wins under her belt, including a jaw-dropping submission win over ex-strawweight champ Jessica Andrade in August.
Lemos, on the other hand, is looking to bounce back. She lost to reigning UFC strawweight champ Zhang Weili in a one-sided decision at UFC 292 in August. But don’t count her out just yet. Before that loss, she had some impressive finishes over Marina Rodriguez and Michelle Waterson.
Now, Lemos is gearing up to face Suarez in a crucial 115-pound matchup in February.
And let’s not forget about UFC 299. It’s headlined by a featherweight title fight. Alexander Volkanovski is defending his belt against rising contender Ilia Topuria. The current co-main event? Former two-division UFC champ Henry Cejudo versus Merab Dvalishvili in a potential No. 1 contender’s bout at bantamweight.
The full UFC 298 card isn’t set in stone yet, but here’s the current lineup:
