UFC 307, scheduled for October 5 in Salt Lake City, will feature Alex Pereira defending his light heavyweight title against Khalil Rountree Jr. and Raquel Pennington defending her bantamweight belt against Julianna Peña, along with several other high-profile matchups.
We’re officially on the road to UFC 307.
On Monday, the UFC dropped its official poster for the upcoming pay-per-view event. It’s set for Oct. 5 at Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. In the main event, Alex Pereira defends his light heavyweight title against Khalil Rountree Jr. And in the co-main event? Raquel Pennington puts her bantamweight belt on the line against former champ Julianna Peña. The UFC 307 fight poster highlights both these epic showdowns.
Pereira is leading the pack for 2024 Fighter of the Year. He’s had successful title defenses against ex-champs Jamahal Hill and Jiri Prochazka at UFC 300 and UFC 303, respectively. On the flip side, Rountree is riding a five-fight winning streak but hasn’t fought since last December. Why? A suspension for failing a drug test.
Pennington snagged the vacant women’s bantamweight title by defeating Mayra Bueno Silva at UFC 297 back in January. This will be her first title defense. Meanwhile, Peña shocked the world by beating Amanda Nunes at UFC 269 to win the title. She then lost it back to Nunes in their rematch seven months later and hasn’t fought since.
UFC 307 also boasts several other marquee matchups. We’ve got a bantamweight bout between Jose Aldo and Mario Bautista. There’s a featherweight contest pitting Movsar Evloev against Aljamain Sterling. Plus, a women’s bantamweight battle featuring Kayla Harrison and Ketlen Vieira. And don’t forget the welterweight clash between Stephen Thompson and Joaquin Buckley. So many fights to look forward to!
