The UFC has announced that it will hold its 308 pay-per-view event in Abu Dhabi on October 26, continuing its tradition of hosting October events in the city, though no bouts have been confirmed for the card yet.
Get ready, fight fans! Abu Dhabi’s gearing up for another UFC extravaganza.
The UFC 308 pay-per-view? Yeah, it’s happening in Abu Dhabi. Etihad Arena, to be exact. The date? Mark your calendars for Oct. 26.
Seems like Abu Dhabi’s become UFC’s October sweetheart. UFC 294, UFC 280, and UFC 267? All hosted there in the same month.
What’s the fight card for Oct. 26, you ask? Well, that’s still under wraps.
Remember Islam Makhachev? The reigning UFC lightweight champ? He’s been the star of the last two Abu Dhabi PPVs. Knocked out Alexander Volkanovski in their rematch last October. Then he snagged the lightweight crown with a killer submission win over Charles Oliveira in 2022.
Rumor has it, Makhachev might be back on an Abu Dhabi card this year. But who’s he fighting? That’s the million-dollar question. No word on the 155-pound king’s opponent yet.
Oh, and there’s more. UFC’s got a Fight Night event at Etihad Arena on Aug. 3. The lineup? Still a mystery. But hey, that’s part of the thrill, right?
