UFC 310 Fight Card Adds Top Heavyweight Rematch

Ciryl Gane and Alexander Volkov‘s rematch, initially postponed due to Volkov’s knee injury, has been rescheduled for UFC 310 on December 7 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Ciryl Gane and Alexander Volkov have a new date for their rematch.

Their UFC 308 encounter was postponed due to Volkov’s knee injury. Now, Gane (12-2) and Volkov (38-10) are set for UFC 310 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. La Sueur reported the bout’s move to Dec. 7, and the UFC confirmed it on Friday.

This clash of ranked heavyweights is highly anticipated. Gane is No. 3 in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings, while Volkov is No. 2. Their first fight was back in June 2021, where Gane won by unanimous decision.

That bout headlined a UFC APEX event in Las Vegas. After defeating Volkov, Gane went on to beat Derrick Lewis for the interim heavyweight title. He then challenged Francis Ngannou at UFC 270 but lost by unanimous decision.

Gane scored a first-round knockout of Tai Tuivasa, earning another title shot. This time, it was for the belt vacated by Ngannou, but he was submitted by Jon Jones in just over two minutes.

Most recently, Gane defeated Serghei Spivac via second-round TKO in September 2023.

Volkov is on a career-high run with four straight wins—his best streak since starting 4-0 in the UFC. The former Bellator champ has beaten Sergei Pavlovich, Tuivasa, Alexandr Romanov, and Jairzinho Rozenstruik during this stretch.

Volkov aims for a long-awaited UFC title shot if he can secure a win over Gane.
