Featherweight Nate Landwehr won a Performance of the Night bonus for his knockout of Jamall Emmers at UFC Atlantic City, his fourth such bonus in his last five UFC appearances.
Nate Landwehr, that guy’s a legend. He’s still living up to his name, you know. At 35, this featherweight is still cashing in those Performance of the Night bonus checks. Just last Saturday, he did it again.
He knocked out Jamall Emmers, and boy, was it electric! It happened at UFC Atlantic City. Landwehr, he’s one of the most thrilling fighters in the 145-pound division. Everyone says so.
He was in a bit of a pickle early on, but he bounced back. He let loose a barrage of punches in the dying seconds of the first round. Knocked Emmers out cold. That’s “The Train” for you. This was his fourth $50,000 post-fight bonus in his last five UFC appearances.
But hey, Landwehr wasn’t the only one who had a good night. Dennis Buzukja also got a Performance of the Night bonus. He broke free from a two-fight losing streak and bagged his first UFC victory. He knocked out Connor Matthews in the third round. This was during the undercard.
The event? It was UFC Atlantic City. Happened on March 30 at New Jersey’s Boardwalk Hall.
There were two more bonuses handed out that night. Ibo Aslan and Anton Turkalj, the light heavyweights, they got the last two. They were honored with Fight of the Night for their rematch. Aslan got his payback with a third-round knockout. This was four years after he lost to Turkalj in the regional scene.
