UFC middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis was revealed as a contestant on the second season of The Masked Singer South Africa after being eliminated from the competition.
Well, well, well. UFC middleweight champ Dricus du Plessis, a man of many talents, ain’t he?
Just this past week, something interesting happened. You know that show, The Masked Singer South Africa? Yeah, that one. Well, it’s in its second season now, and guess who popped up as a contestant? Our very own du Plessis. He was the Wildebeest, of all things.
But, alas, he got booted off.
And then there was the big reveal. It was a bit of a struggle, mind you. The Wildebeest mask was a tad too big for his head. But once it was off, the judges’ faces were priceless. They were surprised, sure, but also thrilled to see the world champ fighter.
Now, du Plessis, he’s 30. His singing career? Well, let’s just say it hasn’t exactly hit the high notes. But his fighting career? That’s a whole different ball game.
The man’s a beast in the ring. He snagged the middleweight title with a decision win over Sean Strickland. That was the main event of UFC 297 in January. And guess what? It was his ninth straight win.
So, yeah. Dricus du Plessis. Fighter. Singer. Wildebeest. Quite the resume, huh?
