UFC Champ Tom Aspinall Joins WWE with Cody Rhodes, Gunther

Tom Aspinall, the interim UFC heavyweight champion, made a notable appearance at a WWE show in Manchester, England, where he was introduced by Cody Rhodes and suggested an impromptu match with WWE world champ Gunther, although no fight ensued.

Tom Aspinall might just be dabbling in pro wrestling soon. This week, he popped up at a WWE show in Manchester, England. A surprise? Maybe. But exciting for sure!

The interim UFC heavyweight champ was introduced by none other than WWE universal champion Cody Rhodes. The crowd went wild as Aspinall made his entrance. Hometown hero vibes, anyone?

Not long after, WWE world champ Gunther joined the party. He’s got a match coming up against Rhodes at WWE’s Crown Jewel on Nov. 2. Drama brewing!

Gunther took a moment to acknowledge Aspinall’s achievements. Then, he suggested an all-champions photo with both Aspinall and Rhodes. Nice touch, right? Afterward, he wished Rhodes luck for their Saudi Arabia face-off and even extended a handshake.

Aspinall, ever the instigator, threw down a challenge: “Why wait until Crown Jewel when we can do this right here, right now in Manchester?” The crowd ate it up! But alas, cooler heads prevailed.

Fresh off his interim belt win with a swift knockout of Sergei Pavlovich at UFC 295 last November, Aspinall defended his title in July with a first-round finish of Curtis Blaydes at UFC 304. Busy guy!

Looking ahead, Aspinall is set to be the backup fighter for the upcoming UFC 309 heavyweight championship main event between Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic. Exciting times ahead!
