The UFC’s middleweight division will kick off its February schedule with a matchup between Roman Dolidze and Nassourdine Imavov headlining the UFC’s Fight Night on Feb. 3.
Alright, let’s talk UFC. The middleweight division is gearing up for a big one. February’s just around the corner, and it’s kicking off with a bang.
On Thursday, the UFC spilled the beans. Roman Dolidze and Nassourdine Imavov are headlining the UFC’s Fight Night. The date’s set for Feb. 3, but the where? Still a mystery. MMA Time was first to tweet this juicy bit of news.
Remember Dolidze’s 2022? Three wins, all finishes. But 2023? Not so hot. He only stepped into the octagon once, and it didn’t go his way. Marvin Vettori took him down in a unanimous decision at UFC 286. That was back in March.
Dolidze had two fights on the cards for the end of the year. One with Derek Brunson, the other with Jared Cannonier. But, life happened. Brunson split with the UFC to sign with the PFL. Cannonier? Injury. So, those fights? Never happened. But hey, Dolidze’s still ranked No. 13 in MMA Fighting’s Global Rankings. And he’s 4-1 in his last five fights. Not too shabby, eh?
Then there’s Imavov. He was riding a three-win streak, but 2023 didn’t treat him kindly either. He started the year with a loss to Sean Strickland. Unanimous decision. That was in January. He came back in June at UFC 289, but his fight with Chris Curtis? A no-contest. Accidental clash of heads, they said.
