Dominick Reyes secured a crucial victory and the highest payday at UFC Louisville by knocking out Dustin Jacoby, while Nassourdine Imavov controversially defeated Jared Cannonier in the main event.
Dominick Reyes secured a crucial victory by knocking out Dustin Jacoby in the UFC Louisville main event. He also walked away with the biggest payday on the card.
On Thursday, the Kentucky Boxing and Wrestling Commission released the disclosed salaries from the UFC event in Louisville on June 8. Reyes and main event fighter Jared Cannonier topped the list with the highest payouts.
Reyes earned $250,000 for his knockout win over Jacoby, marking his first victory in five years. Since defeating Chris Weidman in 2019, Reyes had endured a close decision loss to Jon Jones and three consecutive knockout defeats to Jan Blachowicz, Jiri Prochazka, and Ryan Spann.
This knockout win over Jacoby puts Reyes back on track. He was rewarded with the largest payday on the UFC Louisville card.
In the main event, Nassourdine Imavov achieved the biggest win of his career with a fourth-round finish over Jared Cannonier. The end of the fight was controversial, as Imavov rocked Cannonier with several strikes, but Cannonier refused to go down, swinging wild punches as he attempted to recover.
Referee Jason Herzog then stepped in and waved off the action, awarding Imavov the TKO victory. Controversial, right?
For his efforts, Imavov took home $126,000, including a $63,000 win bonus. Cannonier earned $165,000 to show but missed out on his win bonus after suffering his first knockout loss since moving to the middleweight division.
