UFC Nashville Main Event Seeks Replacement Opponent for Cory Sandhagen

Umar Nurmagomedov has withdrawn from UFC Nashville due to undisclosed reasons, prompting the search for a replacement to fight against bantamweight standout Cory Sandhagen.

Umar Nurmagomedov has had to pull out from the UFC Nashville because of undisclosed reasons. Now, the UFC is on a hunt for a new opponent for the bantamweight star Cory Sandhagen. This unfortunate shift in proceedings has been confirmed by several sources, after first being reported by TheSchmozone. The UFC Nashville event is all set to take place on August 5, at the Bridgestone Arena and will be aired on ESPN and ESPN+.

Nurmagomedov, who is a relative of former lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, was looking forward to extending his unmatched run to 17 matches and assert his title contention at 135 pounds. Ever since signing with the UFC, the 27-year-old has had four consecutive victories. His latest win being over Raoni Barcelos at UFC Vegas 67.

On the other hand, Cory Sandhagen is seeking to regain his momentum for another title shot after suffering significant losses against current champion Aljamain Sterling and former champion T.J. Dillashaw. The native of Colorado has managed to win his past two bouts. Most recently, he managed to score significantly more than Marlon Vera at UFC San Antonio.
