The UFC has released fighters Seung Woo Choi, Diana Belbita, and Istela Nunes from its roster following their recent losses, with Belbita and Nunes losing at UFC Vegas 105 and Choi experiencing a series of defeats since 2021.
The UFC has decided to part ways with three fighters. After recent losses, Seung Woo Choi, Diana Belbita, and Istela Nunes are no longer on the active roster, MMA Fighting reports.
Belbita and Nunes faced their departures following defeats at UFC Vegas 105 on April 5. Belbita lost to Dione Barbosa, while Nunes fell to Loma Lookboonmee.
Belbita entered the UFC back in 2019 with a promising record of 13-4. However, she exits with a 15-10 record after dropping six of her eight UFC fights. Her victories inside the octagon were decision wins over Maria Oliveira and Hannah Goldy.
Nunes, once a contender for the ONE Championship title, saw her UFC journey end without a single win. She lost all five strawweight bouts since October 2021.
Choi joined the ranks in 2019 and fought 11 times against notable opponents like Movsar Evloev and Alex Caceres. Yet, he managed only four victories. The South Korean featherweight has struggled since 2021, going 1-5, including a recent first-round knockout loss to Kevin Vallejos in March.
