UFC Singapore Showdown: Anthony Smith vs Ryan Spann 2 Confirmed Matchup

Ryan Spann and Anthony Smith will rematch in a light heavyweight bout at UFC Singapore.

Ryan Spann is set to face Anthony Smith once again in a light heavyweight bout at UFC Singapore on Aug. 26. This rematch comes after their headlining bout at UFC Vegas 37, where Smith defeated Spann with a first-round submission. The news of the rematch was first reported by MMA Junkie.

Smith and Spann are currently ranked Nos. 8 and 13, respectively, in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings. Both fighters are in dire need of a win, as Smith recently faced consecutive losses to Johnny Walker and Magomed Ankalaev, while Spann lost by first-round submission to Nikita Krylov in March. Smith’s last victory was in September 2021 against Spann, and the one-time UFC light heavyweight title challenger has since held a 4-4 record in his past eight outings.

Meanwhile, Spann experienced a two-fight win streak being snapped by Krylov and has a 3-3 record in his past six contests, all of which have ended before the four-minute mark of Round 1. The highly-anticipated event on Aug. 26 will take place at Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore, headlined by a featherweight bout between Max Holloway and “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung.
