UFC Singapore Showdown: Giga Chikadze vs. Alex Caceres

After a hiatus of more than 18 months, MMA fighter Giga Chikadze will return to the octagon to face Alex Caceres at UFC Singapore, aiming to bounce back from his nine-fight win streak being broken and regain his victorious form.

Giga Chikadze, after a hiatus of over 18 months, is ready to make his much-anticipated return to the octagon. This has been confirmed by multiple sources informed about the plans relating to the promotion. The fight against Alex Caceres is scheduled to happen at the UFC Singapore event placed to be held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on August 26. This fight booking was first reported by MMA Junkie.

At 34 years old, Chikadze is seeking redemption after his nine-fight winning streak was broken by Calvin Kattar in the main event of UFC Vegas 46 back in January 2022. The fighter, also known as “Ninja”, had made a commendable record by securing victories in his first seven appearances in the octagon. The highlights include three back-to-back stoppages against Edson Barboza, Cub Swanson, and Jamey Simmons.

In contrast, Caceres has achieved a remarkable run in what is deemed as the UFC’s most challenging division. He is stepping into this fight having won two consecutive matches and 7 out of 8. After his decision loss to Sodiq Yusuff, the fighter renowned as “Bruce Leroy” started 2023 with a spectacular Fight of the Night win against Daniel Pineda at UFC Vegas 74 in June. The UFC Singapore is going further to be headlined by a match between the former featherweight champion, Max Holloway, and multiple-time title challenger, Chan Sung Jung. The help of Guilherme Cruz in reporting was acknowledged.
