UFC Vegas 76: Joanderson Brito to Face Khusein Askhabov in Exciting Matchup

Joanderson Brito and Khusein Askhabov are set to face off in a featherweight clash at UFC Vegas 76.

A featherweight clash is on the horizon for UFC’s summer slate, with Joanderson Brito and Khusein Askhabov set to face off at UFC Vegas 76 on July 1 at the APEX. Insiders have confirmed that the matchup is part of the promotion’s plan.

Brito bounced back from his octagon debut loss to Bill Algeo, finishing off his next two opponents. He confronted Andre Fili at UFC Vegas 53 in April 2022, where he overcame the longtime UFC veteran in the first round. Brito continued his winning streak with a swift submission of Lucas Alexander at the UFC Vegas 62 event in October. On the other side, Askhabov began his professional career with 23 consecutive wins until he faced a unanimous decision loss to Jamall Emmers at UFC Vegas 69 in February. The 28-year-old currently has 16 finishes under his belt and is hunting for his first UFC victory.

UFC Vegas 76’s main event features a middleweight bout between Sean Strickland and Abusupiyan Magomedov. Guilherme Cruz contributed to the original report.
