UFC Vegas 77 Post-Fight Bonuses: Jack Della Maddalena & Bassil Hafez Earn Fight of the Night Honors

Fighters Jack Della Maddalena and Bassil Hafez secured the “Fight of the Night” at UFC Vegas 77, each taking home an additional $50,000, despite the match being arranged on short notice.

Jack Della Maddalena and Bassil Hafez, despite being convened only five days before, were able to significantly impress UFC executives with their performances at UFC Vegas 77 to earn themselves the coveted “Fight of the Night” title. Hafez proved his capabilities as a last-minute replacement opponent for Jack Della Maddalena. Maddalena’s originally scheduled fight at UFC 290 had seen two opponents withdraw, paving the way for Hafez to show his mettle. Over three robustly contested rounds, Hafez sought to impress with a sequence of tireless takedown attempts and resolute standup work.

While Hafez’s performance managed to ensnare the approval of one of the three presiding judges, two others saw it differently. They awarded Maddalena a 29-28 score, resulting in a win for Maddalena via a split call decision. Despite the final outcome, the effort and endurance displayed by both fighters were not disregarded.

Not only were their efforts recognized, but they were also financially rewarded. Both fighters were granted an additional bonus of $50,000 each for their noteworthy performances on Saturday at UFC APEX in Las Vegas. Along with them, two other fighters also took home bonuses of $50,000 for their stunning “Performance of the Night.” UFC Vegas 77 was an eventful spectacle that unfolded at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas and was aired on ESPN and ESPN+.
