A welterweight fight between Randy Brown and Muslim Salikhov has been added to UFC Vegas 85, while three fighters, Nate Maness, Kiefer Crosbie and William Gomis, have been removed due to injury, with replacements and new matchups announced.
So, here’s the scoop. Randy Brown and Muslim Salikhov are set to duke it out in a welterweight match at UFC Vegas 85. But, there’s a twist. The Feb. 3 fight card has been hit with a wave of injuries, losing three fighters, the UFC announced on Thursday.
Who got the axe? Nate Maness, Kiefer Crosbie, and William Gomis. They’re out of the winter event.
Maness was all set to face Azat Maksum. But, plot twist! Maksum is now squaring off with Charles Johnson in a flyweight bout. And Crosbie? He’s been swapped out for Pete Rodriguez, who’s now stepping into the ring with Themba Gorimbo.
Oh, and there’s more. A featherweight match between William Gomis and Melsik Baghdasaryan is off the table. Gomis pulled out, so Baghdasaryan is now set to go toe-to-toe with Hyder Amil at UFC Vegas 86 on Feb. 10 in Las Vegas. That’s straight from the horse’s mouth, the UFC announced.
Remember Brown vs. Salikhov? It was supposed to go down at UFC 296, but Salikhov got sidelined due to illness. Brown’s looking to bounce back after a blow from Jack Della Maddalena ended his four-fight winning streak. Salikhov? He’s 1-2 in his last three fights after a unanimous decision loss to Nicolas Dalby.
And the main event? UFC Vegas 85 is topped by a middleweight clash between Roman Dolidze and Nassourdine Imavov. The fight card, happening at UFC APEX in Las Vegas, is slated to air on ESPN+. So, mark your calendars!
