Anthony Hernandez secured a fifth-round TKO victory over Michel Pereira at UFC Vegas 99, earning the Performance of the Night bonus and $50,000, while Darren Elkins and Daniel Pineda‘s featherweight bout was awarded Fight of the Night, with both fighters receiving an extra $50,000.
Anthony Hernandez snagged the biggest win of his career—and an extra $50,000 to boot!
In Saturday’s UFC Vegas 99 main event at the UFC APEX, Hernandez dominated Michel Pereira. It was a fifth-round TKO victory. Pereira came out swinging with a big flurry early on. But for the next 20-plus minutes? It was all “Fluffy.” He wore Pereira down with relentless pressure, battering and bloodying the standup fighter throughout. Quite the spectacle.
At just 31 years old, Hernandez nabbed the lone Performance of the Night bonus for his stellar performance. Talk about making a mark!
The UFC also handed out a Fight of the Night award. No shocker here—it went to the featherweight clash between Darren Elkins and Daniel Pineda. Elkins clinched a unanimous decision and his first career Fight of the Night bonus. Meanwhile, Pineda announced his retirement in defeat, but hey, he still pocketed his second such award. Both fighters walked away with an extra $50,000. Not too shabby for a night’s work.
