UFC Vet Chris Camozzi Claims BKFC Cruiserweight Title in 66-Second Knockout

Chris Camozzi became the BKFC cruiserweight champion by defeating Sawyer Depee with a first-round knockout at BKFC 67, following his transition from MMA to Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship in 2022.

Chris Camozzi is now a BKFC champion, and he did it in violent fashion. On Friday, at the Denver Coliseum in Denver, Colo., Camozzi seized the vacant BKFC cruiserweight title with a first-round knockout of Sawyer Depee at BKFC 67.

Camozzi wasted no time. He came out swinging, throwing shots left and right. Just 66 seconds into the first round, he landed a right hook that shattered Depee’s nose. Finished the fight with authority.

A UFC and PFL veteran with 42 professional MMA bouts, Camozzi switched to Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship in 2022. Immediate success followed. He finished Bubba McDaniel in just 37 seconds.

Next, Camozzi knocked out Daniel Spohn in two minutes, earning a shot at Lorenzo Hunt for the cruiserweight title. That night didn’t go as planned—he lost by split decision. But when Hunt was suspended after testing positive for banned substances? Camozzi got the call.

And now? He holds BKFC gold.
