UFC Veteran Felipe Colares Tragically Passes Away at 29 Following Bus Accident

Former UFC fighter Felipe Colares died at age 29 after being hit by a bus in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Felipe Colares, a former UFC fighter, has tragically passed away at the age of 29. The devastating news was confirmed on Monday after Colares was hit by a bus on Monday morning in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He was on his way back from training when the accident occurred. His coach, Rodrigo Babi, informed Combate that though Colares was taken to Hospital Rocha Faria in Campo Grande, he sadly died before arriving at the hospital.

Colares, the former Jungle Fight featherweight champion, held a UFC record of 2-4 between 2019 and 2022. During his time in the UFC, he earned victories over Domingo Pilarte and Luke Sanders. He eventually left the company following losses to Chris Gutierrez and Chase Hooper.

After his departure from the UFC, Colares competed for the first time under the Ares FC banner in February, eight months after the birth of his first son, Rhavi. In this competition, he won against Alioune Nahaye in Paris, France, improving his overall MMA record to 11-4.
