Undisputed super middleweight boxing champion Savannah Marshall has signed a multi-year deal with the Professional Fighters League (PFL) and will join the launch of its PFLW brand, although it is not yet known when she will make her competitive debut.
Savannah Marshall, an undisputed super middleweight (168 pounds) boxing champion, is set to bring her exceptional boxing skills to the Professional Fighters League (PFL). Her entry into the league was confirmed through a recent press release, which stated that the 32-year-old Marshall had signed a multi-year deal with PFL. Marshall is now part of the PFL’s impressive talent roster which includes her past rival, Claressa Shields, and recently signed Amanda Serrano.
In addition to these boxing stars, the league also includes two-time PFL champion Kayla Harrison. These four talented fighters are slated to be part of the official launch of the league’s PFLW brand. PFL CEO Peter Murray made a warm welcome to Marshall, stating that her addition further solidified the league’s standing as the best global roster of women in combat sports. He further added, “PFLW is committed to the empowerment and equality of all female athletes and provides a dedicated platform for women to become PFL MMA champions.”
Marshall and Shields share a competitive history; they faced each other in a heated middleweight championship unification bout in October where Shields clinched victory by unanimous decision and added Marshall’s WBO belt to her own collection of titles. Notwithstanding, Marshall bounced back in the following July, as she defeated Franchón Crews-Dezurn. Marshall’s triumphant win garnered her super middleweight belts from boxing’s four major organizations, establishing her as the undisputed champion of the division. Nevertheless, the timeline for Marshall’s official competition debut in the PFL is yet to be announced.
