Vadim Nemkov vs Corey Anderson 3 Canceled; PFL Seeks New Dubai Co-Main Event

The planned fight between Vadim Nemkov and Corey Anderson for PFL’s Dubai debut on January 25 has been canceled, with Anderson criticizing Nemkov for backing out of the match.

Vadim Nemkov vs. Corey Anderson 3? Yeah, that’s not happening anymore. The fight was supposed to be on PFL’s Dubai debut card on Jan. 25, but it got scrapped. Just like that.

PFL officials broke the news to MMA Fighting on Tuesday. It was a bit of a shocker, honestly.

Corey Anderson spilled the beans first. He had stepped in for Ante Delija, moving up to heavyweight just to face Nemkov again. You see, their first bout ended in a no-contest due to an accidental head clash. Awkward, right?

In their rematch, Nemkov snagged a unanimous decision, claiming the Bellator light heavyweight title. But then he vacated it to jump into the heavyweight fray. Anderson was itching for another go at Nemkov, but now? Not happening.

Anderson wasn’t too happy about it either. He called out Nemkov for agreeing to the fight and then backing out later. Drama much?

“Woke up to a text this morning,” Anderson vented on Instagram. “Vadim refuses to fight you.” Apparently, Nemkov thought Anderson was just too tough. Wanted an easier opponent instead. Can you believe it?

“You call yourself the No. 1 pound-for-pound fighter,” Anderson continued, “but you’re scared to fight me again?” Ouch.

So yeah, that fight’s off the card now. PFL’s scrambling for a new co-main event for January’s show.

But hey, don’t forget—the main event still stands strong! Usman Nurmagomedov will defend his lightweight title against Paul Hughes. That’s gonna be something to watch!
