UFC flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko and contender Manon Fiorot engaged in a social media exchange, with Fiorot eager to secure a fight for the title after Shevchenko’s recent victory, leading to a playful yet competitive back-and-forth as they await official scheduling.
UFC flyweight champ Valentina Shevchenko and top contender Manon Fiorot—usually all business in the octagon—had a bit of a spat on social media.
It’s been two months since Shevchenko reclaimed her title with a decisive win over Alexa Grasso at UFC 306, wrapping up their trilogy. Fiorot, eager for her chance at the belt, is next in line after taking down Erin Blanchfield and Rose Namajunas, boosting her UFC record to an impressive 7-0.
“Valentina Shevchenko, stop making people wait!” Fiorot tweeted. “Let’s do it soon enough so I can send you to retirement and move on.”
Shevchenko didn’t take long to clap back at the French flyweight’s comment.
“You lose, you retire. Deal?” Shevchenko shot back. “Ill-mannered first grader.”
The verbal jabs continued with Fiorot kind of agreeing but more focused on getting a fight date and location sorted.
“Deal,” Fiorot replied. “I’ll take you seriously when you’ve signed the contract. Damn teacher’s pet.”

Compared to some trash talk between fighters, “ill-mannered first grader” and “damn teacher’s pet” are pretty tame. Yet, Fiorot is pulling out all stops to get Shevchenko’s attention as she eyes UFC gold for the first time.
No word yet if the UFC has moved to book this showdown or if Fiorot is just trying to kickstart the process for early 2025.
For now, judging by her Instagram updates, Shevchenko seems to be enjoying her post-victory vacation. Hard to say when this fight might actually go down.
