Vinny Magalhaes Arrested for Deadly Weapon Assault in Las Vegas

Vinny Magalhaes, a former UFC and PFL fighter, was arrested in Las Vegas for assault with a deadly weapon, facing three felony charges and a potential 18-year prison sentence if convicted.

Vinny Magalhaes found himself in hot water this past Saturday in Las Vegas. Arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, he’s now staring down the barrel of three felony charges. Yikes!

MMA Fighting got the scoop, confirming through court records that Magalhaes is cooling his heels at the Clark County Detention Center. The drama? Allegedly, he waved a weapon around during a domestic spat with three victims. Thankfully, no shots rang out, and everyone walked away unscathed.

Magalhaes, who’s 40 by the way, had his initial court showdown on Tuesday. Mark your calendars; he’s due back in court on December 23rd. If convicted of all charges, he could be looking at a hefty 18-year stint behind bars. That’s no joke.

For those who don’t know, Vinny’s a big deal in the jiu-jitsu scene. He first turned heads on The Ultimate Fighter 8, making it to the light heavyweight finals before Ryan Bader bested him. Over his career, he racked up a 19-12 (2 NC) record across 33 pro MMA bouts. His last fight? June 2021.

Just so you know, this report had contributions from Guilherme Cruz and Damon Martin. They always bring the heat!
