Vitor Belfort defeated Ronaldo Souza in a unanimous decision at the Gamebred Boxing 4 co-main event.
At the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisc., Vitor Belfort and Ronaldo Souza participated in a boxing match serving as the co-main event for Gamebred Boxing 4. The fight streamed on UFC Fight Pass and PPV.com. In a rematch from their previous UFC fight, Belfort sought redemption for his first-round TKO loss to Souza at UFC 198 in May 2016.
Belfort returned to the boxing ring after a first-round stoppage of Evander Holyfield at a Triller event in November 2021. The 46-year-old had a limited fight schedule with only one other appearance since his last UFC fight, when he lost to Lyoto Machida at UFC 224 in May 2008. Meanwhile, Souza made his first appearance since leaving the UFC in 2021, following a four-fight losing streak that included stoppage losses to Kevin Holland and Andre Muniz.
The first couple of rounds saw Belfort and Souza display great respect for each other’s power, with Belfort taking the lead on the scorecard after the first two rounds. In the third round, Belfort dropped Jacare with a left hand, and although Souza survived the round, Belfort further widened the score gap. Souza mounted a comeback in the fourth and fifth rounds, landing punches in tight clinches and displaying moments of success. However, it was not enough to overcome Belfort’s early round domination.
In the end, Vitor Belfort defeated Ronaldo Souza via unanimous decision with scores of 58-54, 58-54, and 57-55. The exhilarating bout showcased the power and resilience of both former UFC fighters as they battled through six intense rounds.
