Light heavyweight Aleksandar Rakic will be sticking with the UFC for a while. On Rakic’s Instagram, he announced that he signed a six-fight contract. Rakic is ranked 10th in the light heavyweight division.
At 28 years old, Rakic has been on the rise in the UFC light heavyweight division. He came into the UFC on an eight-fight win streak and won his first UFC fight against Francimar Barroso by unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 115 on September 2, 2017. Rakic would go on a three-fight win streak,Β most notably his win over Jimi Manuwa by knockout at UFC Fight Night 153 on June 1, 2019. His most recent fight resulted in a loss against Volkan Ozedmir by split decision at UFC Fight Night 165 on December 21, 2019. In a division looking for new contenders, if Rakic can go on another impressive win streak it can lead to fighting for the title in the near future.
