Amanda Nunes will defend her featherweight championship for the first time in Brazil. ESPN’s Brett Okamoto reports on Twitter that Amanda Nunes will defend the featherweight championship against Felicia Spencer at UFC 250 on May 9 per UFC President Dana White. Nunes will also make history by having defended the bantamweight championship and now the featherweight championship.

Nunes will look to further cement her status as one of the best fighters in MMA and an all-time great. Her last win was a bantamweight title defense against Germaine De Randamie by unanimous decision at UFC 245 on December 14, 2019. She is on a ten fight win streak that dates back to a TKO win against Shayna Baszler at UFC Fight Night 62 on March 21, 2015. Nunes won the featherweight championship by defeating former featherweight champion Christiane “Cris Cyborg” Justino by knockout at UFC 232 on December 29, 2018.
